E Pluribus Unum

I use Google Reader to scan news and blogs I'm interested in. This morning I came across these two line items:

• According to Forbes, this is the richest year in human history

• Zbigniew Brzezinski believes that the war in Iraq may lead to the end of American global supremacy

I hate to belabor it, but when you connect those two dots (and read the previous post about Ben Stein), it's no mystery why so many of us believe that this country is seriously on the wrong track.

P.S. Careful readers will have noted that the Brzezinski quote comes from a longer interview with, yes, Jon Stewart on The Daily Show. Take a few minutes and watch it. The interview is serious, the guy is credible and his points are very well made. I hope we, as a nation, have the good sense to listen to his warnings.
