I wish more cashiers would do this, please

When giving a customer their change, first place the coins in their hand, then the bills and receipt over them. This way, the coins will not slide off the bills, fall on the floor, annoy the customer, and hold up your line while the customer picks up the coins.

They used to do that.

Oh, I've got one: Ladies (and gentlemen), please don't wait until the cashier announces the amount before beginning the long safari in search of your wallet - you know you're going to have to pay something.

I've got another, could people please start writing their check BEFORE getting the total. I'm pretty sure the date, store name and your name aren't going to change before she's through. And if you pull out your checkbook after the cashier tells you the total, I will groan loudly and sigh even louder.
